Information

Biogazelle is a Contract Research Organization (CRO) specializing in high-value applications to support pharmaceutical research, clinical trials and diagnostic test development. Our aim is to accelerate the development of therapeutics, including small molecules, RNA targeted drugs, and adoptive cell therapies.

To achieve that, we apply a suite of genomic and transcriptomic technologies, to identify, validate and develop RNA and DNA biomarkers as well as the corresponding PCR-based test methods, in the context of drug discovery and drug development. We hold a unique forefront position in the application of quantitative PCR, digital PCR and dedicated RNA sequencing workflows, optimized for quantification of coding and non-coding genes, on precious clinical samples such as liquid biopsies and formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues.

We also support the development of novel adoptive cell therapies such as CAR-T, CAR-NK and TCR-T through the development of assays for vector copy number analysis, pharmacokinetics (PK), and detection of replication competent virus events (RCL, RCR). As part of our expanding services portfolio, we have developed a proprietary low-cost high-throughput molecular cellular phenotyping service to characterize any type of molecule, including oligonucleotide therapeutics, providing insights in regulated pathways, target toxicities, compound similarities and target deconvolution.

In the last few months Biogazelle has been part of the Belgian government-led COVID-19 public testing effort and has validated and scaled up several high-throughput SARS-CoV-2 PCR testing assays which are also offered commercially.

Relying upon the strong scientific background our staff, backed up by more than 20,000 citations in peer-reviewed articles, Biogazelle has built an impressive track record during its 12-year history. In an ISO17025 certified and GCLP-compliant environment, we have conducted the study of thousands of samples, addressing research questions in many different disease domains, and designed and validated thousands of PCR assays and panels in our high-throughput laboratory facilities with state-of-the-art technologies.
