The spearhead cluster concept has been rolled out in several instances in Europe. It is a way for the government to develop joint roadmaps/projects/actions with companies around a number of strategic topics, and to mobilise dedicated budgets for this purpose.
The core of the spearhead cluster flanders.HealthTech is the worldwide trend of converging technologies (life sciences, medical devices, digital technologies, electronics and photonics) in health, and the firm belief that we in Flanders are extremely well placed to play a pioneering role in this. Therefore the new spearhead cluster flanders.HealthTech is a joint initiative by flanders.bio, medTechFlanders and DSPValley.
The spearhead cluster will focus on
• A clear roadmap for health technology in the domains of personalised medicine, digital medicine, disruptive health solutions and value-based efficient healthcare.
• Identifying new innovation opportunities with stakeholders.
• Setting up local and international opportunities for partnerships
• Use our own spearhead budgets to enable more innovative healthTech business projects.
